Chapter NY will debut in the Galleries sector of Art Basel 2025 with a presentation featuring works by Erin Jane Nelson, Antonia Kuo, Adam Gordon, Mary Stephenson, and Stella Zhong.

Erin Jane Nelson presents a new body of work featuring ceramic sculptures that function as pinhole cameras, used to capture the photographs embedded within her accompanying wall works. Through photography, craft materials, and speculative narratives, she explores personal, regional, and ecological histories. In Antonia Kuo’s photochemical paintings, she continues to merge photographic materiality with alchemical transformation, exploring memory, personal history, and the interplay of industrial and organic forms to new ends. Mary Stephenson’s most recent emotionally resonant, dreamlike paintings combine vivid colors, subtle gestures, and shifting scales to evoke the liminal spaces shaped by memory and introspection. In Adam Gordon’s ongoing series of doll paintings, he sources uncanny subjects from found photographs, gently distorting the familiar to reveal the surreal nuances of everyday life. In dialogue with her sculptural installations, Stella Zhong’s paintings unite cosmic and microscopic scales, using geometric and infrastructural forms to convey the revolutionary potential of smallness and to feel hope and momentum in inert states.
